Hello Fellow Family Researcher:
You are invited to add your family information to the Southern California Genealogical Society's Virtual Surname Wall. You may submit your surnames at no cost, and you are encouraged to send this invitation to your genealogy contacts -- friends, relatives, email lists, etc.
Where indicated below, please provide:
1. Your family surnames (including spelling variations),
2. The geographic area in which they lived, or the migration path. If providing specific US location, list the information in order by city, county, and state. To avoid confusion, please do not use state abbreviations.
3. The associated period of time. You may use abbreviations (approx., or abt., or ca.) to indicate approximate time frames.
Your participation in the Virtual Surname Wall is completely voluntary. Submitting your data to the project provides expressed authorization for SCGS to include the information in our database. The Surname Wall information will be maintained by SCGS and may be included in printed or searchable online databases. If you approve, SCGS will release your email address only if/when we receive an inquiry from a perspective cousin. If you would prefer, SCGS can serve as an intermediary and will relay the requester's information to you in the event of a possible family connection. SCGS cannot be liable for incomplete referrals due to outdated or incorrect contact information.
If you have questions at any time about the Virtual Surname Wall, please contact us at
