Extraction enables you to display the options of a question based on the options selected for the previous question. For example:

The extracted question is as follows with all the options:

If the respondent selects options AOL and Earthlink for question 1 then the extracted question (i.e. question 2) will be displayed as follows:
(Only the options selected by the respondent will be displayed on the Survey)

How to setup Extraction?
On the Edit Survey page you will find the Add/Update Logic link for each question.

- For the source question (e.g. question 1 from above example) click on the Add/Update Logic link
- Select the Extraction option and click on Set up Logic

- Then select what type for the destination question (e.g. question 2 from above example)
- Click the Save button (on the popup window) once you have selected the type for the destination question)

Note: The destination question will be automatically inserted into your survey. You can Edit the destination question as per your requirements.
You also need to setup a default branch for cases where the respondents do not select any options for the source question.
To setup the default branch, click the Branch link next to the source question. In the popup
window, set the default destination to branch to a question that you would like the survey to go to in case none
of the source question options are selected by the respondent.Then click the Update Branching Information button.

After setting up extraction, you can reorder the extracted question to any location within the survey (after the source question). It is not
possible to setup extraction for multiple question and reorder the extracted questions to different locations within the survey
Note: Extraction is available only for Multiple Select Type questions.
