What is TubePulse?

TubePulse is a beta product that we are testing with a few of our clients. TubePulse is currently available by invitation only. If you are interested in using this tool and executing on a pilot project, please contact sales and business development.

TubePulse is a Web 2.0 mechanism to capture real-time feedback on Flash/Video/Audio files as the video/audio is playing. The basics of TubePulse is as follows:

• Upload your Video / Audio file into SurveyConsole -- Currently we are only accepting FLV (Flash Video) and MP3 files. In the futire we anticipate supporting other video formats like AVI, WMV and MOV.
• Custom Video Player -- TubePulse will wrap the video file with a customized video player (like YouTube, Google Videos etc.)
• Real-Time Rating Slider -- Integrated as part of the video player is a Rating Slider -- Users can rate the video / audio by moving the slider up/down (or sideways) -- to indicate parts of the video / audio they like and parts they do not like.
• Continuous Data Collection -- The system will collect data on a continuous basis -- currently every second. We expect that this data collection rate will be customizable feature in the future.
• Real-Time Charts -- Real-Time charts and graphs show where, within the video / audio, users had more interest than the others
• Integrated Segmentation -- Segment streaming video ratings based on any demographic profiling survey questions. Eg. Males Vs. Females etc.

How do I use the TubePulse tool?

The TubePulse tool can be accessed under the Advanced Question menu:

I have a couple of vidoe clips that I would like to use Tube Pulse with. How can I enroll in the Pilot program?

Please contact Sales/Business Development. Please make sure you mention that you are looking to pilot the TubePulse product.

Once this is out of beta, how much will this cost?

TubePulse will be available along with the the Enterprise Site License/Developer Edition. Please contact salesfor a price quote.

How to upload audio / video clips?

• You can upload audio / video clips in your account. For more information please visit the help links under Additional References below
• You can also reference the files from remote / other servers. When you are specifying the file, select the Load from URL option and specify the correct URL

Can I upload AVI/MOV/MPEG Files?

No - At this time we are only accepting FLV (Flash Video) and MP3 (Audio) file format. In the future we anticipate adding more file types.

Can I upload MP3 (Audio Files)?

Yes - TubePulse has been enhanced to support MP3 for Audio and FLV for Video files.

Where can I see the report of how users rated the different segments of the video clip?

View the Real-Time Summary Report:

How does the collected data appear? Is is a second-by-second data chart or is it a fixed number?

TubePulse calculates the rating every second and displays that in a Chart. To view the ratings on a second-by-second basis view the Real Time Summary Report on your survey:

Can I cross/segment based on other variables/questions on the survey?

No - This feature will be released soon. Its not available yet.
